Heckman-Morash House

35 Hopson Street

Heckman-Morash HouseThis house is shown in the 1879 Bird's Eye View Map (BEV) and was built by Peter A. Heckman. He owned it for only a few years, however, before selling to John Morash, a shoemaker, in 1881. Morash owned it until 1930 and since then it has undergone several changes of ownership. The house is an interesting variant of the common Lunenburg "bump". Over the central window is a straightforward extended Scottish dormer. With much detail still intact, the house retains all of its 19th century character.
