1st Annual Dr. Terrence Punch Legacy Lecture
July 3rd at 3pm
Terry Punch passed away earlier this year following a career steeped in research of history and genealogy, much of which was based out of his attachment to the South Shore and specifically Lunenburg. Terry was an educator at heart, so the South Shore Genealogical Society is honouring his work by providing an ongoing forum to bring noted lecturers to Lunenburg. The Punch family has endorsed this annual Legacy Lecture series.
For the first lecture, Pam Punch will join us with a close colleague of Terry’s, Dr. Ken Paulson, who also has family connections in the area. This book launch and lecture are about the Emoneau Murders of 1791. Ken has been working on the genealogy of all the families involved in the trial, including the judge and jury, off and on for the past 25 years. The lecture will be held in what was the courthouse where the trials were held – St. John’s Parish Hall. Wine and cheese to follow.
