Lunenburg's Volunteer of the Year 2019

Cheryl Lamerson is recognized for her work with Lunenburg Community Consignment, the South Shore Genealogical Society, the Lunenburg Heritage Society, the Lunenburg & Area Garden Club, the Lunenburg Welcome Committee, the Lunenburg Comprehensive Community Plan Steering Committee, and Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, although she has touched many other events and organizations.

According to her nomination: “Cheryl is one of the most dedicated, reliable and hard-working volunteers a town could hope to have in a citizen. She is currently an active volunteer in seven organizations, one of which is a business for community giving that she attends to daily in some way. Cheryl’s leadership skills have inspired many to join the spirit of community contribution in ways that suite each individual to benefit others. This award is a fantastic way to thank a truly amazing and talented volunteer for her tireless efforts here in Lunenburg.

Cheryl will attend the Nova Scotia Volunteer Awards ceremony in Halifax with Mayor Rachel Bailey and Recreation Director Kelly Cunningham on April 1st.

All the nominated Lunenburg volunteers will be celebrated at a Town public reception on April 15th.

A warm congratulations to Cheryl and all of those who give their time to the betterment of our community!
